JOHN MEULLER (Webmaster Analyst from Google):

Yes.So I’m not completely sure which report this refers to, but in general, the reports get like this I do pass on to the web spam team. But that doesn’t mean that they’ll be able to take action immediately on a lot of these things. So this is something where they have to look at the report and figure out what’s the right approach here.Sometimes it makes sense to do manual actions.Sometimes there are different shades of final action that are possible. So it’s not always going to be the case that all of the sites that you report are going to disappear from the search results completely, even if the web spam team does take manual action. And other times they will take these reports and say, well, this is more of a general problem that we need to solve on a broader level, and they’ll try to find more automated or algorithmic approach to this problem. And that does take a bit of time. But the good news there is, of course, that, one, to kind of tackle a problem more algorithmically, then it’s not limited to just those sites that you submitted but it’s actually something that we can apply across the web as a whole. So just because you didn’t get a response or ignored, they are really valuable for the team here.
