Is it necessary to organize the headings in the order of h1, h2, h3 in the code or is it okay if the headings in the code appear in a different order but they’re the rendered in the right order?

JOHN MEULLER (Webmaster Analyst from Google):

From our point of view we use headings to determine the context of the page but we’re not picky in the sense that we say oh you only had any you can only have one h1 headings and h3 should be below h2 should be below h1 we’retrying to essentially just group the different pieces of content together and understand which of these pieces belong together and for that headings are great thing whether you start with h1 and then go to h3 is kind of up to you whether you start with a three and then you have a different h2 in the middle that’s totally up to you as well we’re just trying to kind of understand the structure of your contact and it’s not the case that you would see any kind franking change by shuffling headings around.
